YEAR 7 ‘WINDOWS OF WORTH’ CONFERENCE AT LIVERPOOL ANGLICAN CATHEDRAL

On Tuesday 28th April, 20 students from Year 7 attended a conference at Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. Students from a variety of schools from across the Liverpool Diocese attended the conference which was designed to give them a glimpse into the life of Josephine Butler through the windows of Christian values, and the inspirational lives and stories of people of faith. The day began with collective worship and Hope Academy students were given the opportunity to lead this. Our students read the story of the Good Samaritan and then led a time of prayer. Some of these prayers were written by one of our Year 7 chaplaincy students, Sophie Evans.

The students then got the opportunity to take part in three workshops and a tour of the Cathedral. The tour was a particular favourite with our students and they even got the opportunity to meet the Dean of the Cathedral, the Very Revd Pete Wilcox, who was very impressed with them and told them that they must come again! Thank you to all the staff in the education department at Liverpool Cathedral for planning a wonderful day and to the Josephine Butler Trust who kindly covered the full costs for the day.
