The Humanities
Faculty have launched our annual European Study Tour for 2015, this trip will
visit France and Belgium and is open to any students currently in Year 9,
who has opted to study Geography, History, Law, Sociology or Travel and Tourism
at GCSE level next year. This trip will run from 17th-24th July 2015 at the end of the summer term
and there will be a maximum of 45 places available on this trip.

Itinerary
Friday 17th July

Arrive at school at 9.30pm and travel overnight on the coach to Ypres.

Saturday 18th July
|
Check into hotel- pick up packed lunches and visit;
The Flanders Fields Museum
Sanctuary Wood Trench System
Tyne Cot Cemetery
Attend the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate.

Sunday 19th July
|
After breakfast visit Langemark German Cemetery (Ypres).
Visit to Passchendaele Memorial Museum.
Evening spent at leisure in Ypres.

Monday 20th July
|
Travel towards Paris and visit the Somme.
This will include; Thiepval Memorial, Beaumont Hammel and the Ulster
Tower.
Check into Hotel in Paris.

Tuesday 21st July
|
After breakfast depart for central Paris and visit;
The Eiffel Tower
Funicular railway journey to the Sacré Coeur
Shopping on the Champs Elysées

Wednesday 22nd July
|
Full day at leisure in the Parc Asterix theme park.
|
Thursday 23rd July
|
After breakfast have a walk along the River Seine in Paris and some
time to buy gifts for family and friends.
Return home.

The total cost
of this trip will be £470 per person, to secure your child’s place an initial
non-refundable deposit of £70 is required by Friday 27th June.
This can be paid via a cheque made payable to Newton Academy Trust or it can
also be paid via Parentpay.
